I have this question.Hope to get a answer here :D

Using baitcaster reel to lure in saltwater.

What are some of the neccessary parts that need to be clean or service?

What are some of the steps to prevent corrosion?

After usage, you are advised to use warm water to rinse your reel. Use a tooth brush or small paint brush to brush away the salt thoroughly. Then give a vigorous shake to purge the excess water out. Leave it in a well ventilated place to dry. You don't have to service your reel too often, unless you are using the same reel most of the time. Otherwise, once a month should be good.

For basic servicing, these are the areas to look out for:
    Bearings
    All moving metal parts
    Handle
    Reel seat area
    Star drag

After the servicing, apply a thin layer of corrosion-x for protection.

If your baitcaster has a levelwind for laying your line, then the worm gear area that moves the levelwind should be cleaned very thoroughly and Reel-Xd or Corrosion Xd.

Aside from that, Jack has covered the rest in general.
