I visit Malacca few times a year and was amazed by the beaches, but i do not have to time to go fishing.

Maybe i will take a longer trip this november and spare some time for fishing.

May i know which part of malacca is that?

I am staying in Cla-bang area when i visit malacca.
  • raakesh
    its Klebang bro.

there is a stretch between klebang and tanjung kling, called lereh which produces good sized rays , average 9kg sizes. u can try there.

we usually fish further south near the portugese settlement area.

    cheers

things to note for the trip.

5-6oz if normal weights. 4oz if grip sinkers

recommended line poundage 0.40mm and above

pls bring extra line and weights ... u might lose some rigs to the notorious puffers of malacca  .

    Hello Raakesh,

Congratulation on your excellent catch. Had been following your CR closely on Malaysian Fishing Net... :D

A couple of enquiries, dun mean to be rude, is it safe to fish there at night? Any mak moto gang that will pose a problem? Any precaution advice to share with us? Do we need a 4X4 to reach that ground? I noticed that most of your CR are at nite, does that means the catch rate is poor during day even during good tide run? I do go to Malacca very often and it only make sense that I should try fishing there in the day to scout around and know the ground first.

    Tight Lines Always

if u fish in a group its ok.

u dont need a 4x4 . car can also. but if it rains then is a bit slippery.

we fish late evenings and night for 2 reasons.
    1 - its not hot 8)
2 - the puffer fish not so active, u get your lines cut/nicked
