Glad that the forum is up and functional once again... Stable and in safe hands... But its a pity to see the classified section being restricted, guess we will be getting less good deals from now on...

At the moment, only premium members are entitled to post. Ordinary members can view and reply if you have the interest on it.

Of cos its worth our while to pay to view and get good offers in the classifieds...

However did anyone stop to think of those sellers??
Just think of it.. will you first pay $24 in order to sell equipment at cheap price ?

Of cos it doesn't affect those Premium Kakis and since they are paying coz they have a passion for fishing..
But most of those sellers(the ones that give the super good once in a while deals)have either given up their passion or dont need the equip and are kind enough to sell it at a cheap price..

All in all, it will bring the number of sales in the classifieds.. But i have no qualms bout it being the way it is..

8) I agree of this too . The more restrict the less Kaki will come in ! For us usal Fishing Kaki still ok . What about some other kaki will giving out fishing and selling the good tackles ? I miss the offer too . :?

I think you might have misinterpreted the rules Forummers DO NOT have to pay $24 to view, to purchase or to respond to what is posted on the classified. The rule is that to post anything for sale in the classifieds, you have to be a paid premium member.

Mods, please correct me & my apologies if I am mistaken.

Thanks Makaira,

you got it right. Only Premium members are given the priviledge of selling tackle on the Classified forum, but all kaki's can view and reply to the sales post if they are interested in buying anything.

I'm prepared to pay the $24 but still sincerely wish that this section to be open to all for free.
Would like to hear from our Mods team for reasons why it is not convenient to open it.

Limit the classifieds to a small pool of sellers will inevitably the trading activities of kakis in this forum. I can foresee some non-paying member may broadcast their sales at other sections such as "General Discussion" . The moderator will have a gala time to filter off these postings in other sections.

Would like to hear from our Mods team for reasons why it is not convenient to open it.

Mainly because at least some personal particluars will be collected by Mike Goh when he's doing the collection for Premium Kaki. There are unfortunately some shady characters who've made use of the Classified section to carry out funny activites. Some police cases have also arised because of that.

I know there aren't really a lot of them, but even 1 is 1 too many. We of course cannot guarantee that with this implementation, there will not be anymore monkey business in the Classified, but this is the best we can do to offer maximum protection to the people who will be spending money there.

Bottomline, we don't want people to get conned in the FK Classified.

How about opening the classified section in controlled fashion, much like the integrated casino in singapore. Registered user, Email acct, Phone number and a ban list. Moderators can give views on the products sold instead of hunting around the forum for illegal sales posting. Also maybe a credit system like yahoo. Also sellers may want to pledge a small commision for posting and sales on the forum, I am sure it would enhance the value of the site and also help subsidise the cost of running the place. So sad that the classified section is in it's state now.

There must be certain privileges for paying kakis as compared to non paying. I look at this as one of them.

One thing I need to ask, does it means that after paying the subscription fees (starting this Saturday??) privileges for kakis only activiates i.e posting in classified ?

How about free gifts for the hmm ! first 200 premium kakis ( I think I should qualify)

Uncle, there will be more privileges for Premium members which will be spelt out as we go on with the membership drive. Membership cards which provides discounts at affliated shops may be one of them. Please check with Jeffrey Tee as he will announce them as and when we have more.

Yes I knew that already.
But if you noticed there are a substansial reduction of posts...all due to money..
If you sell an item for $30 and have to pay a membership...what the conclusion?

I was trying to drum up support (lah) looking at the sudden slow-down of posts.
