Time: 2pm to 8pm
Water condition: Choppy
Bait: Live prawn
Current there was light, sinker used was around size 1 to 2. Water depth was about 10m average. Total 3 fishos including a lady angler. Catches was about 10 fishes, mix of parrot and ACK.
On a personal note, I think the tackle I brought along was a little on the overkill side. Hook size I used was 3/0, abit too big. As a result, could only hook 1 ACK about 400g. There were bites, but I just cant seem to set the hook despite striking, either I strike too early or my hook size was just too big. Couple of times I saw my rod tip vibrating while on rod holder, grab my rod and strike, still cannot get the fish.
In general, the fishes we caught that day was a little on the smaller side. Quite obvious from the catches that we manage to haul up. Jimmy commended that those spots usually will be able to bring up a couple of kilo plus grouper, no idea why we just cant seem to get them that day. Perhaps the earthquake eariler in indonesia spook the bigger fishes, or maybe we are just not lucky enuff that day. That said, I did had a big miss, my stiff rod was bent quite a fair bit. Point to note was that Jimmy was very helpful, once my reel fried bee hoon. I wanted to cut away my line but he insisted on helping me untangle my line. Despite choppy condition, he still manage to untangle the bee hoon. Every request to change spot was met promptly. He also wont hesistate to loan you some of his tackle. Overall, fair value for money. Newbies in offshore should benefit from his helpfulness.
