i heard people say ANG CHO

but golden snapper also some call ANG CHO

red snapper= ang kwey. golden snapper/ finger bream snapper/ spotted snapper= ang chor/ kim chor

Its funny when it comes to translation - to me no right and no wrong as there is a certain variation depends on who you speak to...Is it a fishing rod or a fishing pole - in hokkien, is it her teck or her kor? All the suggestion is correct to a vague red snapper. I think you can narrow it down with pictures... Just my 2 cents worth

Translation...hmm...agree, that can be confusing at times. I used to read Modern Fishing Magazine all the time, when someone mentioned Red Snapper, automatically this comes to my mind...





But over here, it usually refers to Ang Kuey, and few even relate it to Ang Chor (?)....

red snapper can be ang kuay or chao kuay depends on the teeth
